On the 19th July, Les Thirtle, ICONSYS Senior Projects Manager will be donning his lycra and padded shorts to cycle the 308 miles from London to Paris over 4 days…!  The “capital to capital” challenge begins in Croydon as he cycles 86 miles on the 1st day, finishing at Dover and crossing the channel by Ferry to Calais. Once over the water he’ll start cycling “French Style” (remember to keep to the right hand side), passing through the French countryside and traditional market towns.  On the 4th day and final day he’ll reach Paris, the home stretch up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, finishing at the Eiffel Tower.

Les is a keen cyclist and will be completing the challenge with three weekend cycling friends.  Although the trip will be enjoyable, it will not be without its ups & downs as well as the mental and physical challenge it poses.  The four friends have decided to cycle for three charities, and are looking to raise awareness and money for three separate charities; The British Heart Foundation, Help for Hero’s.

Les will be cycling and raising funds for a cause which is personal to him, ovarian cancer.  ICONSYS are pleased to be sponsoring Les and should you wish to donate to a worthy causes and help him reach his target of £1,500 please click on the link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/l-thirtle

Good luck Les, enjoy.
